It involves interactive teaching with the use of real patients to help demonstrate the application of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

  • New Zealand Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Trainees Representative:This position involved being the representative for all Plastic & Reconstructive surgical trainees in New Zealand. Tasks included ensuring maximum training benefits to the trainees and providing an easy and open communication path between the registrars and the consultants around New Zealand
  • Coordinated nation wide video teaching program for trainee registrars: This was a weekly session overseen by myself for two years. These sessions allowed trainees coming up to their exams to be tested in a formal setting. Non-trainees were invited to attend also in an observer capacity. This proved very popular with the trainees and non-trainees alike
  • New Zealand Trainee Representative on Board of New Zealand Association of Plastic Surgeons
  • Arranged the New Zealand Plastic Registrar’s Conference 2008: This was a major undertaking that involved arranging speakers, sponsors and a mock exam for all trainee registrars around the country
  • Provided with the opportunity to operate during an International Craniofacial Symposium at Sick Kids Toronto. Televised live operating session with active live feedback to over 500 online viewers and an auditorium of international craniofacial surgeons present within auditorium at SickKids
